Origami Frog Adventure: Story Board

Image result for origami frog

For my third project, I plan on doing a stop-motion animation with an origami frog. I plan on attaching dental floss or fishing line in order to help with the jumping movements. I'm still trying to decide on how I want the frog to look, but the picture provided above is to give an idea of what direction I'm heading towards.
Story Board:
1.) Frog comes into creation. I do an animation of the frog being folded into being from a piece of paper.
2.) Have the frog travel down-stairs and begin exploring the house. I think the most challenging part of this animation will be figuring out how to make the paper frog look like it's hoping. It wouldn't make sense to have it slide along the ground in my opinion.
3.) Have the frog interact with pets/objects. I want the frog to come off as mischievous, so I'm going to attempt having it knock over objects and pester my dog or cats. The hard part of this will be trying to get my pets to stay in one place to let me move the frog.
4.) Have the frog leave the house and jump into the outdoor pond. I think I will have to be rather quick in doing this scene. I'm worried my frog will fall apart in the pond before I get all the frames I need.
5.) Have the frog leave the pond.
6.) Have the frog fall apart due to water damage.

  1. I really like how you're combining the real world with the animated world by using your pets and the paper frog; I think that's a great idea! I would recommend planning out your specific types of shots, that will help you visualize even more. Great job!

  2. I think that showing the frog being created is a great aspect to this project. If you use a thick construction paper, I think it would hold together better in the pond.

As for making the frog look like its jumping, you could have a partner toss the frog in the air while you take a burst of shots. And you could do this multiple times to edit them together. That might not be the best way, but it's an idea.
